Or a natural yearning for death?
The kiss of the sun quickly fading,
While cold and darkness ends its rest.
The colors drift from green to red,
A comfort, despite its warning.
We gather and embrace it,
Even while the Earth is mourning.
But maybe it’s the promise,
The confidence in knowing,
That even while we lay dormant,
We too, are forever growing.
